What you can expect if you visit Wiltshire Trichology Centre

You will find a warm friendly welcome when you visit Wiltshire Trichology Centre, which is within Sarum Physiotherapy Centre.

The Consultation

• Your consultation will be held in private within my clinic which is on the first floor.
• You are welcome to bring a relative with you should you wish to do so.
• All infants will be expected to be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
• The consultation is likely to last up to one hour.
• During this time, John will talk to you about a variety of subjects, from hair care, genetic history, health, medications and diet.
• Then your hair and scalp will be examined.
• If your problem is a hair loss disorder the hair may be examined microscopically.
• In any event the object of this consultation is to obtain a diagnosis.
• Should you then require scalp treatment, medications will be supplied for home use.
• If it is a hair loss problem, you may need blood tests that can be carried out immediately after the consultation.
• These tests are carried out at Salisbury District Hospital pathology department.

What would happen next?

Should the diagnosis require medical treatment, then with your permission, a letter of referral will be sent to your GP, a Dermatologist, Endocrinologist or other appropriate specialist.

Please note that a free half hour consultation is available for all post chemotherapy patients.
